Executive Leadership
Joseph Friedrich, M.D. grew up in Santa Monica, California, and graduated Cum Laude from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. He went on to earn his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine before completing his Emergency Medicine residency at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a full-time community physician and academic clinical faculty, Joseph has worked the overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, and understands firsthand how poor quality schedules accelerate burnout and can degrade a physician's quality of life. As a scheduler, he spent countless hours building schedules around competing preferences, staffing requirements, and operational constraints. Through those experiences, he became convinced that none of the existing scheduling platforms — including QGenda, ShiftAdmin, ByteBloc, ShiftGen, LightningBolt or Amion — were anywhere near adequate for the realities of modern healthcare scheduling.
He founded ShiftHarmony AI to change that. His mission is to help physicians get schedules that truly fit their lives, while giving schedulers back the hours they lose each month to one of healthcare's most frustrating administrative burdens. At its core, ShiftHarmony AI is about giving doctors more control over their lives and giving schedulers the time, relief, and peace of mind they deserve.
Roger Obando is a seasoned technology executive, entrepreneur, and startup advisor with a track record of building and scaling high-growth companies. As a multi-time founder and CTO, he has led organizations from early-stage concept through rapid growth, fundraising, acquisition, and public-market exits.
Prior to joining ShiftHarmony AI, Roger served as CTO at LoyalSnap, where he modernized the platform, integrated AI-driven capabilities, and helped drive more than 200% growth in monthly recurring revenue. Before that, he was Principal Solutions Architect for Startups at Amazon Web Services, serving as a CTO in Residence to founders and executive teams while advising venture-backed startups on technology strategy, scaling, and organizational growth.
Roger previously co-founded Baker Technologies, building it into a leading CRM platform in the cannabis industry with more than 35% market share and over $11 million raised before a successful public exit. He received his B.A. in Computer Science and Visual Design from Duke University.
Hunter Jackson, M.D. began his career with Teach for America, teaching science in post-Katrina New Orleans, before joining Google on the agency business development and partnerships team. He then led strategic partnerships at fintech pioneer Affirm — working with marquee clients like Shopify and Walmart — and served on the clinical operations team at Clover Health before medical school at UCSF. Hunter is completing his residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident, and will be joining one of the nation's leading emergency physician groups as their AI Innovation Fellow.
Sean Kesluk is a law student at NYU, specializing in emerging company and venture capital law. He is a fellow with a venture fund that invests in pre-seed and seed-stage software companies. Before law school, he worked in private equity and served as a U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer, leading teams of analysts in the deployment and use of complex software systems. Sean earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University.
Scheduling Optimization Experts
Leon Lan is a PhD candidate at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam specializing in algorithms for optimization problems. He graduated cum laude with an MSc in Econometrics and Operations Research and brings expertise in scheduling, constraint programming, and algorithmic software development.
At ShiftHarmony AI, Leon helps build scalable optimization models for healthcare scheduling, balancing physician preferences, staffing needs, fairness rules, and operational constraints. Through his partner's experience working as a healthcare provider, he has seen the challenges of healthcare scheduling firsthand and is passionate about using advanced algorithms to improve the working lives of healthcare professionals.
Syphax Ait Oubelli is an Operations Research practitioner specializing in optimization and scheduling for real-world operations. He builds decision systems for business operations settings, modeling complex and highly constrained real-world problems into suitable solutions.
He applies mathematical optimization techniques to solve problems related to scheduling, vehicle routing, facility location, and transit network design — with a focus on turning messy operational trade-offs into well-structured models that hold up in production. He is currently focused on building scheduling and routing tools where optimization delivers measurable operational impact.

Swati Verma is a Delivery Manager at DEVtrust with over a decade of experience spanning quality assurance and release cycle management. She initially led a team of multiple Quality Assurance (QA) engineers while contributing to the company's strategic growth — helping position DEVtrust as a Top Rated Agency on Upwork as part of the Strategic Management team. Currently, she leads end-to-end software development teams comprising Lead Engineers, Lead Quality Assurance (QA) specialists, and Lead Development & Operations (DevOps) engineers, with business and operational oversight to ensure successful project execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
Chetan Lakhanpal is a Senior Software Developer and Technical Lead with over a decade of experience in front-end and full-stack development across technology consulting, fintech, and credit ratings organizations. He leads development teams and works extensively on Agentic AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems — AI architectures that ground language models in real-world, up-to-date knowledge. Passionate about using technology to drive positive change, he is also a student of law with a keen interest in contributing to the Indian legal ecosystem through innovation.
Vishal Mandal is a Business Analyst with deep expertise in requirement elicitation, Business Requirements Document / Functional Requirements Document (BRD/FRD) documentation, stakeholder management, and Agile delivery. He has a strong track record of reducing rework, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring defect-free product releases — consistently bridging the gap between business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate complex needs into scalable digital solutions. Methodical and detail-oriented, Vishal brings structure and clarity to fast-moving development cycles, ensuring every feature ships with precision and purpose.
